Handling 230V in my MAN RV

To meet the demand for consistent 230V power, I integrated the  EcoFlow Delta Pro —a robust 3600Wh portable power station—into my MAN setup. This unit provides substantial power capacity, making it ideal for extended trips or remote work scenarios.

Initially, I managed the 230V routing manually, which proved inconvenient and prone to oversight. Recognizing the need for automation, I explored various priority switches. However, many RV-specific options lacked the sophistication required for seamless operation.

The solution came with the DEWIN Transfer Switch, offering both automatic and manual modes. This switch intelligently selects between shore power and the EcoFlow unit, ensuring optimal power source utilisation without manual intervention.

When this DEWIN Transfer Switch is in Auto -mode, it prioritises power from shore and only charges EcoFlow Delta Pro.

The DEWIN Transfer Switch together with EcoFlow Delta Pro enhances flexibility in various scenarios in manual -mode:

  1. Cost-Efficient Energy Use at Home: By programming the system to draw power from the EcoFlow during peak electricity pricing hours and recharge during off-peak times, I optimise energy costs effectively.
  2. Reliable Power in Low-Amperage Camping Sites: In locations with limited electrical infrastructure, the EcoFlow provides consistent power, while limiting charging rates to prevent overloading the available supply.

Additionally, I converted the vehicle’s refrigerator to operate solely on 12V, eliminating unintended 230V power consumption and enhancing overall energy efficiency.

This setup exemplifies a practical approach to integrating 230V power in RV vehicles, combining efficiency, reliability, and user-friendly operation.
